Obituary

QUEENSBURY --- Mary Elizabeth Dzik, 79, of Hidden Hills Dr., and formerly of Keeseville, N.Y., passed away Friday, Oct. 21, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.

Born June 16, 1937 in Keeseville, she was the daughter of Leo and Anna (Lahue) Roy.

Mary graduated from Keeseville High School and Loretta Business Institute.

For over forty years, she worked for Clinton County Dept. of Social Services.

Some of her enjoyments included bowling, golfing, horseshoes, bingo, reading mystery and crime novels, and going to casinos, especially Akwesasne, to try her luck gambling. She also loved Sunday morning breakfasts with "the girls" and family game nights.

In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by three sisters, Joan Stannard, Ruth Barbour, and Shirley Trombley, and a brother, Gregory Roy.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Lynda Burrall and her husband, Peter, of Queensbury; two grandsons, Kevin Burrall and his companion, Jennifer Leach, of Queensbury, and Matthew Burrall and his companion, Katie Shenks, of Glens Falls; one sister, Jean Stevens of Milton, Florida; two aunts, Norma Mussen of Keeseville, and Marion LaChance of Texas; also several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, with special mention of her close friend since childhood, Patsy Ann Frank of Keeseville.

Calling hours will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at St. John the Baptist Church in Keeseville.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at the church, with the Rev. Kris Lauzon, pastor, officiating.

A graveside service will follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Patricia Stevenson, P.A., and Dr. Jennifer Stratton of Hudson Headwaters Health Network and the nursing staff of 3 West and Tower 3 at Glens Falls Hospital. Also to her special friend, Gregory Camelo for all the visits to the hospital, shopping trips, and impromptu trips to the casino.
