BOLTON LANDING --- On Friday, June 6, 2014, Mary Kolvek, 74, of Sanibel, Fla. and Bolton Landing, N.Y. went into the presence of her Lord and Savior.
She was born April 5, 1940 to parents Harold and Gertrude (Kropf) Fenton of Nyack, N.Y.
Mary attended schools in Maywood, N.J. and then graduated from Montclair State University as a HS Science teacher. She and Richard were married in 1960. Later, she operated the family campground and cottage/boat rental resort on Lake George, and played an active leadership role in both CONY, Campground Owners of N.Y., and ACA, Adirondack Campground Association.
Her home was in Allendale, N.J. for over forty years. More importantly, Mary was active in Christian service. She was President of a Christian nursery school, started a Pioneer Girls Club in our home, and worked on Billy Graham campaigns. She was a member of Hawthorne Gospel Church and later Sanibel Community Church, Sanibel, Fla.
Her love and dedication to her family and in all her endeavors was truly outstanding. Mary was a friend who deeply cared for those God put in her path. Her home was often a refuge for missionaries in transition and anyone who needed care and support. We have all been blessed by her presence and miss her deeply.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard H. Kolvek; her five children, Susan Kolvek McDowell of Tewksbury, N.J., Cheryl Kolvek Ketner of Charlotte, N.C., Scott F. Kolvek of Lebanon Township, N.J., Jennifer Kolvek Dana of Bedford, N.H., and Daniel M. Kolvek of Bolton Landing, N.Y.; eight grandchildren, Erin McDowell, Kelly McDowell, Ryan McDowell, Danielle Ketner, Reagan Ketner, Katrina Kolvek, Noelle Dana, and Thomas Dana; a sister, Jane Fenton Remes of Maywood, N.J.; and many cousins of Nyack, N.Y.
