Obituary

QUEENSBURY --- Mary Patricia Moriarty, 92, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024.

Born December 18, 1931, in Amsterdam, New York, she was the daughter of Louis W. and Margaret (O'Keefe) Booth.

Mary graduated from Glens Falls High School in 1949, and later from Adirondack Community College in 1969.

She was employed as a bank teller at Glens Falls National Bank and Trust Company for many years.

Mary enjoyed playing tennis for many years, especially at the Glens Falls Tennis & Swim Club. She greatly missed her good friend and tennis partner, Charlotte Miller. She enjoyed her bridge club and appreciated the friends who would drive her to the site where they were playing. Her great neighbors, Cindy Fitzgerald and Sally Hoy (among many) provided great comfort to her.

In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her first husband, David F. Taylor in 1961, and her second husband, James F. Moriarty in 2000; brother, Louis William Booth in 2015; and granddaughter, Katie Taylor.

Those left to cherish her memory are her five sons and their families, David, Sandra and Alex of New York City, Robert, Lori, Doug, and Sean of Katy, Texas, Richard, Diane, Erika, Tara, Mark, and Patricia of Edgewater, Florida, Douglas and David of Queensbury, and Mark, Wendy, Amanda, and Adam of Valatie; niece, Julia Burkett of Roanoke, Virginia and her two children, Olivia and Jessica; and nephew, Edward Booth of London, England. She is also survived by her beloved stray cat.
