Updated service notice : A funeral mass for Mary will be held on Friday, April 30, at 1 p.m. at Church of Our Lady of the Annunciation in Queensbury. A graveside ceremony will immediately follow at Pine View Cemetery in Queensbury with Rev. Joseph Busch officiating.

QUEENSBURY --- Mary E. Van Ness, 89, of Pinello Rd., passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021, with loved ones by her side.

Born January 29, 1931, in Hudson Falls, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Louis and Isabelle (Morton) Nailor.

Mary was a graduate from St. Mary's. She later went on to become manager at various local restaurants before retiring from C. R. Bard.

Mary really enjoyed traveling, going to the casino's, making several wedding cakes and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her beloved companion, John Putorti and sister, Shirley Harvey.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, William Van Ness (Connie), Thomas Van Ness (Tracy) and Gail Morehouse (Roger); grandchildren, Heather Mattison (Carl), Douglas Van Ness (Stephanie), Michael Van Ness, Lisa Manning (Keith), Angela Whitt, Richard Morehouse, Jeannie Morehouse, James Huntley, Matthew Augusta (Samantha) and Travis Augusta; great-grandchildren, Evelyn Kammerzell (Jeanelle), Richard Ortiz III, Payton Whitt, Jayden Mattison, Lux Mattison, Lucian Augusta, Alex Augusta, Jocelyn Huntley, Jaxon Augusta and Amelia Van Ness; great- great-grandchild, Adaline Kammerzell; sister, Sandra Reardon; brother, Louis Nailor; her pet, Rudy; also several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graveside ceremony will take place at Pine View Cemetery at a later date at the convenience of the family.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Linda Maille for always being there and to High Peaks Hospice, especially Maura and Carol for their loving care and support.
