QUEENSBURY --- MaryAnn Porta, 87, died peacefully at Westmount Health Facility in Queensbury on Monday, Sept. 10, 2012.
Born Nov. 9, 1924 in Manhattan, she was the daughter of the late Rosario and Acarsia (Marchanti) Pumilia.
She was a seamstress by trade and even made Frank Sinatra's bow ties. She loved to dance and go on long walks. She was very social and loved to be with family. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, MaryAnn was predeceased by her husband, John H. Porta.
Survivors include her son, John Porta and his wife, Pat, of Queensbury; two granddaughters, Linda Freeden of Queensbury, and Patty Onks of Virginia; and three great-grandchildren, Kayla and Johnna Freeden, and Adrian Onks.
Friends may call upon the family Wednesday, Sept. 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury.
A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Boulevard, Calverton, NY 11933.
Donations may be made, in loving memory of MaryAnn, to Westmount Health Facility Activities Fund, 41 Gurney Lane, Queensbury, NY 12804.
