Melanie M.
Russell
Jan 18, 1961 — Dec 10, 2023
FORT EDWARD --- It's with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Melanie M. (Rayno) Russell, 62, who passed away in the comfort of her home with her loving family, dog Bella, and cat Hannah, after she lost her battle with pancreatic cancer on December 10, 2023.
Melanie was predeceased by her parents John and Barbara (McFarren) Rayno. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, Douglas Russell.
Melanie was a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She and her husband's home was always the gathering place for all the family, blood or not. If she wasn't shopping, you could find her crafting with her dog Bella close by. Melanie found time to relax getting her nails done or family trips to Maine to sit on the beach and enjoy good seafood.
Left to share her memories are her children, Joshua (Shawna) Russell , Jade Russell, Jenna (Gabriella) Russell , and Brandon Baldwin; her grandchildren, Schyler (Jana) Russell, Kenadie Russell, Elyse Russell, Mattea (Savannah) Dean, Dylan Masse, Issacc Benway, and Kaeleigh Atwood; her great-granddaughter, Amelia Breault; her sisters, Michele (Rick) Burrell and Melissa (Mike) Rayno; her brother, Bob (Colleen) Rayno; her in-laws, Mark (Melody) Russell, Debbie Harrington and family; several nieces, nephews and cousins; her beloved pets, Bella and Hannah; and her lifelong best friend, Nancy Hewitt.
Visitation will take place Friday, December 15 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.
A graveside ceremony will follow at Pine View Cemetery.
The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to all of T2 especially Chris, RN, Dr. Chris Mason and everyone at the Glens Falls Cancer Center, also Melanie's two daughters, Jade and Jenna for stepping up to care for their mom during this difficult time.
In loving memory of Melanie, contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice.
Condolences and floral arrangements may be sent directly to Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804, or through www.bakerfuneralhome.com.
