Calling hours will take place Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804. A memorial service will immediately follow at 12:15 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Patti Girard officiating. Burial will follow the service at Pine View Cemetery.

HUDSON, FL --- Merry Christine "Christy" (nee Alden) McGuire passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 28, 2019, at her home in Hudson, Florida.

Merry was born on December 25, 1951 in Glens Falls, NY, to the late Cecil and Beverly Alden.

She married the love of her life, her high school sweetheart, Daniel McGuire on August 30, 1969.  Merry and Dan were blessed to call the community of Heritage Pines in Hudson, Florida their home for the last six years, where they have forged many meaningful friendships.

Merry was a graduate of Queensbury High School with the class of 1969. She worked for Citi Financial until her retirement in 2000.  Most recently, she enjoyed working as a Realtor at SunRealty of Florida.

Merry lived her life to the fullest, never missing an opportunity to try something new and she could light up a room with her smile and infectious laugh.  Merry was a very generous soul, who often reached out to those in need.  Her children and her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Merry is survived by her husband of 49 years, Dan, and her three children, Statia Darrah and fiancé, Chris Dark, Kerry Atlas and husband, Bill, and Daniel McGuire and wife, Patty. She also leaves behind her five angels on earth, her grandchildren, Nataleigh Darrah of Queensbury, Robert (Bobby), Luke and Stephanie Atlas of Wilson, NY and Brittann McGuire of Queensbury, NY. Merry was pre-deceased by her brother, Marshall Alden, and her sister, Marcia Lee Corlew.  There are so many special people in Merry's life that will forever miss her, including her brother, David Hammond, her sisters in-law and brothers in-law, her cousins, several nieces and nephews, and many beautiful friends. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she met.
