FORT EDWARD -- Michael H. Blair, 62, of Fort Edward, passed away on Sat. Oct. 14, 2017 after a long illness, with his children by his side.

Born November 9, 1954 in Glens Falls, he was the son of Edwin Maxam and the late Joan Breen Maxam and George Blair.

Michael graduated from South Glens Falls Senior High School in 1972. He worked various jobs throughout the years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He loved to garden and was a very good cook.

Besides his parents, Mike is pre-deceased by his brother Mark.

Mike is survived by his father, Edwin Maxam and his companion, Sylvia McCall of South Glens Falls; three daughters, Brandy (Jonathon) Munger of Gansevoort, April (Jason) Lapoint of Queensbury, and Destiny Blair of Gansevoort; two sons, Kurt (Danielle) Haas of Schuylerville, and Michael Blair of Gansevoort; twelve grandchildren; four sisters, Lisa Stone and her companion Jeff Hoffer, MaryJo Taylor (Dennis), Carolyn Bannon (Edward), all of South Glens Falls, and Lynne Gill (Rusty) of Fort Edward; two brothers, Roger Maxam of Chestertown and David Maxam of South Glens Falls; many nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Mike is also survived by the mother of his children, Cathy Haas and by his special friends Phillip and Karen Barody.

A memorial service take place on Monday, Oct. 23 at 11 a.m. at St. Michaels Church with the Rev. Tony Childs officiating.

Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
