Queensbury/Colorado - Michael Andrew Gills LaFreniere of Aurora, CO passed away on September 2, 2017 at the age of 33 years due to diabetic complications. Michael was the son of Lorraine LaFreniere of Queensbury and Ted LaFreniere III of Glens Falls.

Michael graduated from Queensbury High School in 2002. In 2006, he graduated from SUNY Polytechnic Institute where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business and Public Management. He served in the United States Air Force and retired medically in 2011. He then graduated from Ecotech Institute in Aurora, where he earned his Electrical Engineering degree. Michael was employed by The Wendy's Company as an electrician. Michael was a fun loving young man who appreciated his best friends, Nick Madia, Andrew Carpenter, Mike Rozell, and his football buddy Mark Stratman. His passion for family, friends, love of sports, and sense of humor will continue to live on through all of us.

Michael will be lovingly remembered by his parents; his beloved sister, MaryBeth Park and her husband Rodney; his aunt and uncle Suzanne and Arthur Clark; his cousin Stephanie Abraham, her husband Brian, and their two sons; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins from the LaFreniere/Mahoney family.

Interment with military honors will be private at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
