Queensbury --- Michael J. Hoey, 71, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2019.

Born on September 3, 1947, in Glens Falls, he was the son of Benjamin Hoey Sr. and Catherine Dorothy Morrell.

Michael was a graduate of St. Mary's in Glens Falls. He then worked as the Maintenance Director at Skidmore College until his retirement.

On May 4, 2005, Michael married Beverly Jean Smith.

He was a proud member of the VFW Men's Auxiliary and the American Legion in Queensbury, which he decided to join out of pure pride and admiration for his brother's service in the military.

Throughout his life, he thoroughly enjoyed basketball, which was his favorite sport, football and horse racing at Saratoga Race Track.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Benjamin Hoey Jr. and Patrick D. Hoey, and his sisters, Katherine M. Hoey and Mary Ann E. (Hoey) Biddiscombe.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Beverly Hoey, and his beloved cat, Fluffy.

Graveside services will be private to the family.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Hospice, the Cancer Center at Glens Falls Hospital, Dr. Evans' staff, Sonia Rawlins and Tom Nizolek. Also, special thanks to Terrie Hanley, who stayed with Michael every day in the end.
