QUEENSBURY --- Michael C. Johnson, 64, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness surrounded by loved ones Thursday, October 9, 2025.

Born January 5, 1961 in Glens Falls he was the son of Clifford F. Johnson and Charlotte Elder.

In 1978, Michael honorably served his county in the United States Navy until 1981.

Michael spent many years with the love of his life Edith Johnson.

Michael was an avid history lover; he would visit many forts and battle grounds. He enjoyed reenactments and history lectures. Michael loved camping with his grandchildren and taking trips every year, as well as going on car rides listening to loud music.

In addition to his parents, Michael was predeceased by his beloved wife, Edith Johnson; son, Curtis Johnson; and sister, Debbie Kraemer-Bennett.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Brittany (Jeff) Hoffer, Amber (Chris) Husek, and Michael Matzen; stepfather who raised him and he called dad, David Elder; grandchildren, Kayla, Alex, Kaden, Emma, Michael, Lacie, Bella, and Alexis; sisters, Susan Harris, and Karen Hyrny; brothers, Cliff Johnson, Gary Johnson, and David Elder; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as his pet, Kaiya (Pretty Girl).

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 20, 2025 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 21 Ridge St., Glens Falls, New York 12801.

We will miss his sense of humor. Best "Papa" in the world.
