Obituary

QUEENSBURY --- Michael W. Jarvis Sr., 68, passed away Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015 at Glens Falls Hospital, with his loving family by his side.

Born in Glens Falls in 1947, he was the son of the late Charles and Vivian (Naylor) Jarvis.

Mike graduated from Glens Falls High School and then went on to the apprenticeship school for Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 773, where he graduated as a journeyman, and later held the offices of Vice President and President. For nearly 50 years, Mike served with the Local 773. He was proud of the exemplary work and supervision he did during his 34 years as a working pipefitter.

Mike was an avid hunter and fisherman and a former member of the Buck Mountain Hunting Club.

Above all, he was most proud of his sons and grandchildren. Following retirement, he spent most of his time "hanging" with his grandchildren fishing, playing cards and games, and being their chauffeur.

His strength and determination was an example to his family and friends and will remain a memory and inspiration to many.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 42 years, Sandra Jarvis; two sons, Michael (Christine) Jarvis, and Colby (Melynda) Jarvis; three cherished grandchildren, Tyler, Jessica, and Brett; a brother, Robert (Audrey) Jarvis; and many nieces, nephews, brothers- and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A special thanks to Dr. Cunningham for his care and compassion.

At Mike's request, there will be no calling hours.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Condolences may be mailed to Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804, or through www.bakerfuneralhome.com.
