Obituary

Wevertown --- Milton "Bud" D. Montena, 82, of The Lane, Wevertown, passed away Friday, Dec. 11, 2015 at his home with his wife by his side.

Born in Bakers Mills on May 26, 1933, he was the son of the late Milton A. and Sopharonia (Dunkley) Montena.

Following high school graduation, Bud was drafted into the United States Army in 1953. He served in Germany during the Korean War and was honorably discharged as a Corporal in 1955.

Some of his enjoyments included taking tour bus trips with his wife and sisters, and above all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He also like to go fishing and watch NASCAR races.

After forty years of dedicated service, Bud retired on May 26, 1995 from Operating Engineers Local Union No. 106, working mostly as a heavy equipment operator, which he truly enjoyed.

In addition to his parents, Bud was predeceased by a daughter, Pamela Montena.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa Montena of Wevertown; three children, Martin (Sue) Montena of Queensbury, Thomas (Diane) Montena of Hudson Falls, and Nancy (David) Morrison of Broadalbin; two sisters, Patricia Sawyer of Crown Point, and Myrna Sawyer of Conn.; eight stepchildren, David Millington of Gloversville, Edward (Phyllis) Millington of Fla., Cathy (Russell) Neal of N.H., John Millington of Clifton Park, Theresa (Jay) Theilmann of Lee Center, M. Scott Millington of Ft. Edward, Thomas (Allison) Millington of Clifton Park, and Mary Beth Knowles of Taberg; four grandchildren, Sara Gregson, Joe Montena, and Mackenzie and Erin Morrison; 20 step-grandchildren, Steve, Matt, Jeffery, Gregory, Kevin, Chris, Andrew, Daniel, Patrick, and Rachel Millington, Katie, Jonathan, and Amanda Neal, Joshua, Benjamin, and Nicholas Theilmann, Meghan Raymond, and Samantha, Jennifer, and Katrina Knowles; five step-great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling hours will take place Thursday, Dec. 17, from 10 a.m. to noon, at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

A funeral service will be held at noon at the funeral home, with Sister Linda Hogan and Pastor Arnold Stevens both officiating.

Burial will follow at Bates Cemetery in Johnsburg.
