CORINTH --- Nancy Lee Ellis, 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 11, 2021, at Wesley Healthcare Center in Saratoga.

Born on October 3, 1943, she was the daughter of William and Cora (Stewart) Scofield of Lake Luzerne.

She graduated from the Hadley Luzerne Central School and was a part of the Class of 1961.

Nancy married Gene Ellis Sr. in 1966. They lived together in Corinth for many years.

She was a longtime customer service employee at Ultramar/Johnson's fuel company in Corinth NY before her retirement. She had previously also worked for International Paper and Saratoga Hospital.

Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her two beloved granddaughters Jazmine Rose and Iris Grace. She has a deep passion for doing crafts. Her other favorite pastimes were online games and traveling to Atlantic City.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was predeceased by her husband, Gene Ellis Sr.; brother, William Scofield of Lake Luzerne; and sisters, Ida Shiel of Hadley, and Helen Brown of Lake Luzerne.

Those left to cherish her memory are sister, Nina Petteys of Hadley; son, Gene Ellis Jr. and his wife, Jamie, of Porter Corners; granddaughters, Jazmine Rose and Iris Grace; along with several nieces and nephews.

Per Nancy's wishes, there will be no calling hours and services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
