Obituary

QUEENSBURY --- Norma Willene Findlay, 101, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Granville Center.

Born July 28, 1916 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Bannan) Lorenson.

On June 17, 1940, Norma married Earl Charles Findlay in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

She went on to become a ballet dancer and teacher, owning dance studios in Montreal and St. Lambert Quebec, Canada. She and her husband, Earl also taught round dancing for many years throughout New England.

Some of the things she enjoyed were dancing, painting, and sewing.

In addition to her parents, Norma was predeceased by her husband, Earl; her daughters, Willene Benson, and Trudi Aston; all her siblings; a grandson-in-law, Louis Daignault; and a great-granddaughter.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sandra (Prather) Bernards and her husband, Gene of McMinnville, Orgeon; son-in-law, Bruce Aston of South Glens Falls, NY; grandchildren, Jim Benson, Leonard Benson, Paul Benson, Andrew Benson, Jason Prather, Kelli Reff, Jennifer Aston, and Christine Daignault; as well as many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

At Norma's request there will be no calling hours or services.

Interment will take place at the convenience of the family at Isle LaMotte Cemetery in Vermont.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at The Terrace at the Glen at Hiland Meadows, where Norma lived for several years, for their loving and kind care.
