QUEENSBURY
Normand Joseph LeBlanc, 74, of West Mountain Road, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at the Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Born January 29, 1942 in Moncton, New Brunswick, he was the son of the late Alyre and Albertine LeBlanc.
On July 28, 1962 in West Hartford, CT, at St. Marks Church, he married the love of his life, Gloria Deneault.
Normand enjoyed many hobbies such as hockey, golf, and fishing. He was an avid Elvis fan. Above all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Normand worked at Kadant (Albany Engineering System) for over 30 years. He was a welder and a trouble shooter who traveled often fixing machines.
He was a lifelong member of the Elks Lodge #81.
Along with his parents, Normand was predeceased by his grandson, Jason LeBlanc.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 54 years, Gloria; his children, Paul and Donna Johnson, Heather and Keith LeBlanc, and Holly and Brian LeBlanc; 9 grandchildren, Ashly Solak, Rebecca Connor, Alyssa Solak, Jessie Johnston, Casey Solak, A.J. LeBlanc, Avery LeBlanc, Michael and Mitchell LeBlanc; 3 great grandchildren, Aubrey Karalus, C.J. Mooney, Lyla Connor; a sister, Doraine McCluskey; a brother, Ronald LeBlanc, as well as many nieces and nephews; and his dog Annie who he loved to cuddle with.
Calling hours will take place 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804. The B.P.O.E. Lodge No. 81 will conduct their Lodge of Sorrow during the calling hours.
A private burial will be held by the family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to C. R. Wood Cancer Center, 102 Park St., Glens Falls, NY 12801.
Normand will always be remembered as being the life of the party. His friends at O'Toole's will miss him dearly.
