Obituary

ATHOL --- Orpha D. Baker, 90, of Mountain Road, Athol, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2013 while living at Westmount Health Facility in Queensbury, following a stroke from 2006.
Orpha lived in Athol and had the privilege of being a housewife and mother all of her life. She was a TRUE hillbilly who made her own butter and soap for years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Carl Baker, one brother, Dennis Terrell, one daughter-in-law, Patricia Terrell Baker and one niece, Lee Ann Rafferty.
She leaves behind her two sons, Kenneth and George Baker, living in Thurman on the same homestead where they were born and raised; one nephew, Bruce Terrell, his wife, Marylin, and their children, Stacy and Dennis, all of Warrensburg; several cousins, with special mention of Kurt Burch of Warrensburg; a niece, Sally Wallace and her husband, Richard, of Athol; and one nephew, Scott Noble of Hudson Falls.
At her request, there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
The family would like to thank the Westmount Health Facility for their excellent care.
