Obituary

HUDSON FALLS --- Patrica M. Hayes, 90, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2024, with loving family by her side.

Born October 5, 1933, in Luzerne, she was the daughter of Floyd C. and Ethel M. (Clark) Naatz.

Patricia graduated from Glens Falls High School in 1951 and the State University of New York College for Teachers at Albany in 1955. Patricia was a long-time high school business teacher and retired from Warrensburg Central School after 35 years.

She married Gordon Hayes on November 21, 1965 in Hudson Falls.

Patricia was a member of the Kingsbury Wesleyan Church where she held the treasurer position and was actively involved in the Women's Group. She was also a long-time volunteer for VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance).

Patricia enjoyed spending time with family, church outings, bowling, crocheting, knitting, baking, reading, attending grandchildren's school activities and sporting events, and traveling with her husband in their retirement years.

In addition to her parents, Patricia was predeceased by her husband, Gordon Hayes; son, Brian Chapin; grandson, Jason Cook; sister, Helen Brodell; and brother, Floyd Naatz.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Wendy Hayes Hoffay (Todd), and Diane Buser (Robert); stepchildren, Linda Williams, Donna Cook (Ken), and Gordon "Chip" Hayes III (Cheri); grandchildren, Tristan and Tara Hoffay, Joshua, Ryan, Allison, and Zachary Buser, Jay (Natalie), Tammy, and David Williams, Meredith Morin (Chris), Marleise Cook, and Justin and Jacob Hayes; sisters, Virginia Langworthy and Betty Sheldon (George); sister-in-law, Mimi Hayes; also several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

There will be no calling hours.

A graveside ceremony will be held on Friday, May 31 at 12 p.m. at Pine View Cemetery in Queensbury, with the Rev. Loren Gage and the Rev. Mark Bailey officiating.

A celebration of life will follow at the Oneida Community Church, 197 Sunnyside Rd., Glens Falls, NY 12801.
