Obituary

GANSEVOORT - Patricia Dianne (Morency) Hunter, 62, of Selfridge Road, went home to the arms of Jesus on October 6, 2024, from Glens Falls Hospital after a valiant and courageous fight.

Born September 5, 1962, at Glens Falls Hospital, she was the loving and devoted daughter to her parents William and Elizabeth Morency and the little sister of her brother Michael Morency.

Patty graduated from Hudson Falls High School and then received her degree in nutrition.  She was a self-proclaimed foodie and would try any new food, but she was at her happiest when her and her husband Glenn prepared delicious meals together in what they called the heart of their home, the kitchen.   She worked at Glens Falls Hospital for 20+ years as a dietary supervisor.  Then, Patty and Glenn literally ran away with the circus and joined Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus as food and beverage managers.  They lived on their mile and a half long circus train and traveled to every state and Mexico for seven years.  Her antics during that time were always shared and brought back laughter and fond memories.  Always seeking fun, Patty also loved riding her motorcycle and belonged to the Leather and Lace ladies motorcycle club in her younger years. She loved the Lord and listening to upbeat Christian music and was a member of Oneida Community Church.

Patty's greatest joy was her family.  She is predeceased by her parents, her brother and her beloved dog Peanut.

Patty was married to the love of her life Glenn Hunter.  During their 21-year relationship and 12-year marriage, they were rarely apart.  They were a packaged deal and loved each other with a once-in-a-lifetime kind of love.

Left to forever cherish her memory are the children and grandchildren that she adored.  Patty is survived by her son Lenny Borden and her granddaughters Jade and Alaura as well as her daughter Erin Borden and her grandsons Jason and Alex.  She also treasured her sister-in-love Tammy Hunter-Heckenberg as well as her brother-in-law Scott Miller and her many cousins.  Patty always put the needs of her family, many friends and her constant companion, her kitty Sheldon, above her own.

The family would like to thank Christopher Smith, MD and Ava Hubany, RN for the love and care provided to Patty and to her loved ones.  You both are in exactly the right professions, and we are grateful.

Family and friends may call on Sunday, October 20, 2024, from 2-4 pm with a Celebration of Life immediately following at 4 pm at Harrisena Community Church, 1616 Ridge Road, Queensbury, N.Y.

You will never be far from our every thought, and we will be looking for butterflies sweet Patty!
