Queensbury --- Patricia Ann Shevlin, 74, of Regency Park North, Queensbury, passed away peacefully Monday, May 6, 2013 at Glens Falls Hospital following a brief illness surrounded by her loving family.
Born Nov. 7, 1938 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Leon C. and Grace M. (Celeste) Center.
Pat graduated from St. Mary's Academy and attended St. Mary's Church, both in Glens Falls.
On Nov. 4, 1966, she married Richard M. Shevlin who passed away in March, 2000.
She was employed at Warren County Employment and Training before retiring in 2005.
In her free time, Pat liked playing cards and BINGO, and attending her family gatherings. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially being at their athletic events.
In addition to her parents, and husband, Richard Shevlin, Pat was predeceased by a brother, Thomas R. Center, and a sister, Deborah A. LaPan.
Survivors include her daughter, Theresa Barclay and her husband, David, of Ballston Lake; her son, Anthony Shevlin and his wife, Kathy, of Queensbury; five grandchildren, David Barclay II and his wife, Kathleen, of Ballston Lake, Jason Barclay and his wife, Serena, of Malta, Daniel Shevlin, Thomas Shevlin, and Katelyn Shevlin, all of Queensbury; five great-grandchildren, Puli and Lincoln Barclay of Ballston Lake, and Max, Oliver, and Emma Barclay, all of Malta; two sisters, Phyllis LaCarte and her husband, John, of Hudson Falls, and Joan Center-Smith and her husband, Thomas, of Lexington, MA; a brother, Leon Center and his wife, Marie, of Queensbury; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Center of Glens Falls; brother-in-law, Mike LaPan of South Glens Falls; a sister-in-law, Linda Shevlin of Queensbury, a brother-in-law Owen Shevlin and his wife Helen of Glens Falls; an aunt, Shirley Center of Ballston Spa; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
At her request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
Burial, next to her husband, will be private and at the convenience of her family, at St. Mary's Cemetery, South Glens Falls.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in her loving memory, to St. Mary's St. Alphonsus Regional Catholic School, 10-12 Church St. Glens Falls, N.Y. 12801
Her family is extremely grateful for Dr. Coppens, Dr. Mihindu, Chris Olson, and the entire staff at Glens Falls Hospital, Tower 2, for their compassion and kindness freely given to Pat and her family.
