Obituary

Peter Lo Re, 73, a native Long Islander, unexpectedly and peacefully passed away at his Queensbury home on Saturday, June 1, 2024.

Born on March 23, 1951, in Brooklyn to Andrew and Claudia Lo Re, Peter, an avid commercial flooring representative, began his career in sales at Pergament Home Centers.  His larger-than-life personality was infectious to all who had the fortune to know Pete. An enthusiastic and fervent Mets and Giants fan, Peter's zest for America's favorite pastime was eternally present. Although he was an avid cruiser, he was always on the lookout for the next thrilling roller coaster, embracing the excitement of new adventures. But above all else, his love for friends and family was foremost in his life.

Many mornings you could find Pete regaling the house with the sounds of Barry Manilow, Bruce Springsteen, or Billy Joel as he worked out. He took immense pride and joy in coaching Little League and participating in scouting for many years alongside his beloved son Peter.

Peter is survived by his two children, Denise Stein and Peter Lo Re, Jr.; son-in-law, Daniel Stein; grandchildren, Andrew and Rachel Stein; his sister and brother-in-law, Andrea (Joseph) Roshkowski; nieces, Jaclyn (Jim) Heiman and Lauren (Brian) Tellerman and four amazing great-nieces and nephews, James, Ella, Sophie, and Cole. With his intense love for family and life, Peter pitched a great series but now for one final time the ballgame is over, so put this one in the books.
