WARRENSBURG – Phillip W. Hammond, born September 1, 1945, of Warrensburg N.Y. passed away at his home, after a brief battle with Cancer, on Monday, July 24, 2017 peacefully surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Phillip is the son of the late Delbert W. Hammond and Helen E. (Wolfe) Brown of Warrensburg.

Phil's greatest passion was playing golf at Cronin's Golf Course, owned by his friends John and James Cronin who were always there to support him in any way.

Phil spent his life as a construction worker and handyman to anyone in need. Phil was an avid reader and history buff. He also had a tremendous love for hummingbirds, pugs and horses.

Phil is survived by his mother, Helen; his brother, Sheridan (Pete) Hammond of Pottersville, NY; his daughter, Erica Connell; two sons, Greg and James Hammond with their mother and his 1st wife, Ruthanne all from the Albany area; and his ex-wife and dear friend, Linda DeSantis of Lake Luzerne, NY. Phil would also want to include his buddies, Barry Swan, Dave and Rose Degen, Kevin Kinnarney, Ryan Nelson, and John Abbel to be acknowledged for being a large part of his life, as well as his extended family who loved him more than words, Valerie Lanfear and her three sons, Matthew (his son, Little Matt), Craig "Squirt", and Sean (his son, Jonah) along with Teri Harrington (Pooka) and Chad Friday. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A special thank you to Matthew and Pooka for taking such good care of Phil and providing him comfort in his final days.

There will be a celebration of life held on Friday, August 4th at 11am at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St, Queensbury, N.Y. to share memories of Phil.
