Obituary

QUEENSBURY - Priscilla Rose Phillips Hauser passed away Friday, July 20, 2012 from Ellis Hospital after an extended illness.
She was born on April 25, 1942 in Mount Holly, New Jersey to James W. Phillips and Pearl Jeanette Jones Phillips and raised in Carthage, NY and graduated from Carthage Central High School in 1960. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her younger brother, James E. Phillips in 1994. Priscilla was a graduate of SUNY Potsdam with a B.A. in Secondary Education. She married John Keith Hauser on August 8, 1964. She was variously a teacher, journalist, administrative professional, artist and musician. She was the managing editor of a monthly publication in Crown Point, Indiana. She taught at Devon High School in Milford, Connecticut. She was an active supporter and participant in the arts in the Glens Falls area with many local shows and competitions. She was the owner of the Hearthside Artisans Gift Shop in Diamond Point, New York. She also was a gifted and beloved private art teacher.
Known for her strong opinions and wry of sense of humor, Priscilla will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband, her sons John Keith Hauser, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, Eric Allan Hauser, her 4 beloved grandchildren Cambria, Dylan, Lauren and Jayden, and also several nieces and nephews, with special mention of Chris Phillips, and Heather Phillips, and all their families.
Friends may call upon the family, Tuesday, July 24 from 5 to 7 p.m. and also on Saturday, July 28 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette Street, Queensbury.
A memorial service will follow the calling hour on Saturday, July 28 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. David McCane, pastor of the Oneida Community Church, officiating.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Ellis Hospital, Pathways Nursing and Rehab Center and Glens Falls Hospital for all of their care and support.
