QUEENSBURY | On Monday, March 14, 2016 our mother, grandmother "Ya-Ya", sister and friend found eternal solace in God's loving embrace. She passed peacefully at her home.
Rae E. (Chase) Clarke, 81, was born February 16, 1935 in Fort Edward, NY to Ray and Kathryn (Geppner) Chase, but lived most of her life in Queensbury (the West End).
Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Yvonne "Mitey-Mite" Devine, Deborah "Debbie" Holcomb, Tambrie "Tammy" (Tim) Alden and Cynthia "Cindy" Billington. Also, a very special niece, Stephanie Ralph. Nothing gave Rae more pleasure than spending time with her grandchildren, Kasey Norton, Katherine Bellotti, Kari Alden, Morgan Holcomb, Amber Ross, Kaylee White, and Anlyn Billington. Rae was blessed with her great-grandchildren, Gregory, Kallie, Andrew, Alex, MJ, Lola, Keanna, Wyatt, Andrew and Katelyn, to keep her young. She also leaves a sister, Delores Hamilton, a special sister-in-law, Joyce Jennings, several nieces, nephews, and cousins; Rae's "young husband" Derek Robarge, and her four legged companions, Boots and Lucy.
Besides her parents, Rae was predeceased by two brothers, Bob "BJ" Jennings and Ralph Chase, one sister, Faye Ralph and an infant son.
Rae attended St. Mary's Academy in Glens Falls, graduated from Queensbury and retired from NY State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities.
She was a life time member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in South Glens Falls and belonged to St. Anne's Solidarity as well as the Red Hat Society, and the Willie Nelson Fan Club, of course.
She met Willie Nelson in the 1960's and they became friends. As his fame grew, Rae was his number one fan, attending as many of his concerts as possible. Whenever she was in the crowd of fans she was often a guest on Willie's tour bus.
Rae watched NASCAR and enjoyed her travels any and everywhere, especially Maine and Amish country. Wherever her travels brought her, across country or across town, her car always braked for garage sales. She loved a good deal. Rae played BINGO and the ponies, and liked a trip to the Racino and playing with her special friends.
She was a communicant of West Mountain Community Church.

Special thanks to her wonderful care provider team; Annie (RN); Gail (PT); Dan (OT); Pattie Aller (NP); Dr. Blood; Dr. Saunders; Dr. Johnson and the staff at House Calls Pharmacy. Also, Adrian Torres, John Ross and her friends Sandy, Karen, Brenda and Helyn, just to name a few, who provided small respites for Yvonne.
She may not have amassed riches throughout her Earthly journey but she certainly had a treasure trove of friends who loved her and who will miss her.
Condolences and floral bouquets may be sent directly to the funeral home or through www.bakerfuneralhome.com.
P.S. Rae, we have a date with you Wednesday, so don't make those angels stop off to check out any garage sales on your way to heaven.
