Obituary

Richard (Dick) Armstrong, 79, of Johnsburg, New York, passed away in the morning hours of Friday, January 31st, 2025, at Glens Falls Hospital. He was born on May 23rd, 1945, in Bennington, Vermont.

Dick loved working on old cars, helping his neighbors, and driving the school bus during his time at Johnsburg Central Schools. He loved being with his family, especially his wife Charlotte and their many animals over the years.

Everyone who knew him knows that he was a man of few but very important words.

He served in the U.S. NAVY from 1962 until 1966. Afterwards, he worked as the head mechanic for Johnsburg Central Schools, as well as at Barton's Mines.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Charlotte Armstrong; father, Herbert Armstrong; mother, Arvilla Armstrong; son, Wade Brown, Sr.; and brothers, Thomas Armstrong and Bill Landon.

He is survived by his daughter, Tessa (Del) Atkinson; his grandchildren, Rebecca Atkinson (Kyle Talmadge), Devin Atkinson (Emily Newton), and Heather Atkinson; as well his great-grandchildren, Isabella Talmadge, Levi Talmadge, Karina Newton, Anastasia Atkinson; his son Jarret (Jane) Brown, and several other grandchildren.

Richard has left a hole in everyone's lives and hearts that knew him. To know Dick was to know love and kindness. Shall his memory and love forever live on in our hearts.
