Obituary

GANSEVOORT --- Richard David Barlow, also known to many of his friends as "The Other Brother," 62, of Gansevoort, passed away suddenly at his home.

Born Feb. 27, 1952 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late James D. Barlow and Patricia (Bromley) Ball.

He graduated from Glens Falls High School in 1972 and enlisted in the United States Navy. He served during the Vietnam War, and was honorably discharged in 1975.

Following his service, he was a long time employee of Chase Bag. He also worked for JCPenney for several years, as well as Target.

An avid outdoorsman and animal lover, Richard enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also loved listening to music and attending many concerts.

In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by a sister, Diana Barlow, Thomas Whalen Sr., and James "Butch" Chapman.

Survivors include his two step-mothers, Patricia Barlow, and Lorraine Tisinger; sisters, Christine (Tony) Zeno, Pamela Barlow (fiancé Mark Villa), Karen (Joe) Scriver, Barbara (Chris) Alexander, Kathy (John) VonArb, Margaret Robinson, Anita (Matt) Chase; brother, James Barlow (Judy Breen); several nieces, nephews, and cousins; close friends, with special mention of Kimberly, Elizabeth, and Jesse Kennedy, Angela Hinchliffe, Aries Peterbraugh, and Steve Lambert; also his "Other Brothers," Bim, Jay, Eric (Penny), Philly, Pikey, Dags and Cathy, Macey (Diane), A.J. (Jessica), Mikey, and Billy B.

Calling hours will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 2 and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, April 3 at the Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

Burial, with military honors, will follow at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville.
