QUEENSBURY --- Richard Davis, 70, of Queensbury, passed away unexpectedly, Friday morning, March 15, 2013 at his home, with his wife by his side.
Born December 6, 1942 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Ralph and Margaret (Lane) Davis.
Dick enlisted in the United States Army in Jan. 1961, serving in Germany, being honorably discharged in 1964.
He married Gloria Scoville May 2, 1964 in Adamsville, N.Y.
For thirty years, he was a dedicated employee at Glens Falls Country Club.
Some of his enjoyments included playing with his cat, Skippy, having a few beers with his buddies, and feeding birds. Dick was also an avid NASCAR fan, with his favorite racer being Jeff Gordon. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Dick was predeceased by a brother, Larry Davis.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 48 years, Gloria Davis of Queensbury; four daughters, Audrey Jarvis and her husband, Robert, of Queensbury, Tammy Davis of Glens Falls, Lori Davis and her companion, Shawn Breault, of Ft. Edward, Bonnie Davis and her companion, Jeff Jordon, of Glens Falls; six grandchildren, John, Matt, and Adriane Wright, Jeffery Palmer, Patrick O'Connor, and Chad Jarvis; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patty Potter and her husband, Richard, and Mary Davis; three brothers, Mike Davis and his wife, Linda, Tom Davis and his wife, Renee, and Paul Davis and his wife; also several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Friends may call upon the family Monday, March 18, from 12 to 1 p.m. at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury.
A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with Deacon Bill Bazinet officiating.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family at St. Mary's Cemetery, South Glens Falls.
