QUEENSBURY – Richard P. "Dick" Paris Sr., 85, of Queensbury, formerly of Dunham's Bay, Lake George, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 13 2016 surrounded by his loving family at the Washington Center in Argyle.

Born October 25, 1930 in Glens Falls, NY to the late Russel C. Paris D.D.S. and Louise (Hayman) Paris.

He graduated from Christian Brothers Academy in Albany in 1949 before enlisting in the United States Army in 1951, proudly serving his country until 1954 as a Staff Sargent; proud to become an Airborne Ranger, in which he served in Korea and West Germany.

After returning from overseas, he became a New York State Trooper for 25 years from 1956-1981 Troop G, stationed out of South Glens Falls.

He also worked as a Boat Captain for Shoreline Cruise for 23 years.

Some of his enjoyments included boating on Lake George, N.Y. Giants football, WWII History, spending time with his family and vacationing in Cape Cod.

Dick was predeceased by an infant brother.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Ruth (Thoma) Paris; two sons, Richard (Bridget) Paris Jr. of Pilot Knob and Jeffrey (Becky) Paris of Lake George; 6 grandchildren, Ashley Paris, Jeffrey Paris, Riley Paris, Hailey Litchfield, Shaun McKee, Michaela Gibbs, one great-grandchild, Robert Eaton V; and one sister, Mary Louise Gray of Cedartown, Ga.

The family wishes to express our sincere thanks to the staff at the Washington Center in Argyle.

Calling hours will take place Friday, August 19 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

Memorial Service will immediately follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Paul Cox officiating.
