Obituary

Queensbury NY - Richard (Dick) Graham, 94, of Lancestire Drive passed away at Glens Falls Hospital on January 5th, 2026 after a short illness. Dick was born on October 7, 1931, in Amsterdam, New York.  He was the son of Richard and Hazel (Bisnett) Graham.

He attended schools in Amsterdam and Hagaman and graduated from Wilber H. Lynch Senior High School of Amsterdam in 1949. In February of 1953 he graduated from Utica College of Syracuse University with a BA degree in Chemistry and went on to complete twelve credit hours
of graduate studies at Union College.

Dick served in the US Army taking his basic training at Ft. Knox and advanced training in the Counter Intelligence Corp. He was permanently assigned to the 45th Military Intelligence Company in the Baltimore, MD area and was honorably discharged as an SP3 in December
1956.

On February 2, 1957, he married Nancy E. Moynehan at St. Mary's Church in Glens Falls. Nancy passed away on May 13, 2013, after 56 years of marriage. With frequent moves throughout his busy career, Dick also made time for recreation with his family, boating on Lake
Erie and traveling in their RV. He was very proud of his last home of 30 years that he helped design and had built in Queensbury.

During his career, Dick worked at General Electric Company with assignments at Hudson Falls, NY, Somersworth, NH, and Pittsfield, MA, AB Chance Company of Centralia, MO, and McGraw Edison Company of Olean, NY. Dick retired from Lapp Insulator Company of LeRoy,
NY where he was manager of the Engineering-Polymer Division, he was the holder of four patents. After retiring from Industry, he worked at the Quaker Farms Garden Center and enjoyed growing things and creating arrangements. His last and perhaps his most beloved job was at
Prospect School and Family Center as a Teacher's Assistant working with disabled children for ten years. His final retirement was motivated by the desire to spend more time with his new love, Julia (Judy) Dewey and her extended family at Lake George. A storybook romance that took
place over the last 12 years of their lives, carrying them well into their mid-nineties.

Dick is survived by his daughter, Kathy of Kansas City, MO; son, Paul of Buffalo, NY; companion, Judy Dewey and her daughter Melissa, husband, Ed Pagnotta and their two children, Jessie and Jacob of Lake George NY; Judy's son Mark and his family of West Ft Ann, NY; and
our extended Kattskill Bay family and friends.

He is also survived by sister-in-law, Betsy Moynehan of Queensbury, NY; brothers-in-law, David Moynehan of Queensbury, NY, Ward Gravel of Bedford, NH; and many nieces and nephews.

Dick was predeceased by his sister, Jean, husband, Joseph of Kennebunk, ME; brother, Robert of Amsterdam, NY; sisters-in-law, Sandra Moynehan of Queensbury, NY, Susan Gravel of Bedford, NH, Carol Nelson, husband, Peter Nelson of Queensbury, NY; and nephew, Daniel
Moynehan.

At Dick's request, there will be no calling hours. A service will take place conducted by Father Busch on Friday, February 6, 2026 at 9:30 am at the Landing Assisted Living Facility in Queensbury where he resided for a mere few weeks before he passed. He was adored by staff and residents alike, who witnessed the extraordinary love he showed for Judy throughout his daily visits over the last three years.

A celebration of life to follow at a later date.
