QUEENSBURY --- Richard G. Hipp, 83, passed away at home on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, with his son Stephen by his side.

Born February 5, 1940, in Hackensack, New Jersey, he was the son of Frederick and Ernestine (Weinhold) Hipp.

Richard attended St Thomas in New York City and Kings College in Pennsylvania. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967.

He married his wife Patricia in 1967, and they welcomed their son Stephen in 1968. Richard worked for Wall Street as a computer programmer for over 40 years, along with owning several businesses with Stephen in their hometown of Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey.

Richard loved taking care of his family and animals, always having two pets at a time. He was especially fond of the worst cases at local animal shelters.

In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Patricia; sister, Evelyn; and brother, David.

He is survived by his only child, Stephen Hipp (Tracy); grandchildren, Carly and Ben Hipp; brother-in-law, Barry; and several nephews.

Visitation will take place Saturday, September 9, 2023, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.
