Queensbury --- Richard D. Kline, Sr., 92, of Queensbury, passed away Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014.
Born Sept. 19, 1922, in Uniontown, Pa., he was the son of the late Philip Warden Kline, Sr. and Marion (Cox) Kline.
Following graduation from Glens Falls High School, he served four years with the United States Navy during World War II. Upon returning home from the war, Richard attended The Ohio State University, graduating with a degree in business.
He moved to Glens Falls, where he worked for Woodbury Lumber Co. for 39 years. Upon retirement, he went to work in the catering department at the Great Escape for an additional 19 years. He was a member of Christ Church United Methodist in Glens Falls.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 64 years, Dorothy (Larabee) Kline of Queensbury; his daughter, Betsy Kline Shinego and her husband, Michael, of Tiverton, R.I.; two sons, Richard D. Kline, Jr. and his wife, Sandra, of Johnstown, N.Y., and Timothy S. Kline of Queensbury; three grandchildren, Carrie Shinego Tetro and her husband, Brian, of Bedford, N.H., Amie Shinego of Tiverton, R.I., and Adam Kline of Johnstown, N.Y.; two great-grandchildren, Katie Tetro and Bryson Tetro, both of Bedford, N.H.; his sister, Susan Cross of Fairborn, Ohio; his brother, Philip Warden Kline, Jr. and his wife, Sharon, of Oroville, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
At his request, there will be no calling hours or funeral.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
