GLENS FALLS -- Richard Eric Pitman, 76, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2015.
Richard was born Aug 1, 1938 in Troy and raised in Pleasantdale. He was the son of the late Beatrice (Ballantine) and D. Roger Pitman.
He attended Lansingburgh High School and received his GED.
Richard served in the U. S. Navy and later worked at various Ford dealerships. He retired from Wallace Supply.
Along with his parents, Richard was predeceased by his son, Robert Pitman (Waterford); brothers, James and Robert Pitman; and nephew, Kyle Horton.
Richard was survived by his loving partner, Myrtle Lilly of Queensbury; his daughters, Susan Pitman (Illinois) and Sheryl Pitman (Rotterdam); his son, Eric (Lisa) Pitman (Troy); daughter-in-law, Doris (Robert) Pitman (Waterford); grandchildren, Robert Pitman, Jarrett Pitman, and Jillian Pitman; sisters, Dorothy Pitman (Pleasantdale) and Ruth (Terry) Horton (Brunswick); nieces and nephews, Keith, Karl, Kasie Horton; Kara (Greg) Shimer; Mackenzie Morine; Kyly, Arilyn and Jace-Tyler Horton.
Per Richard's request, there will be no service.
His cremated remains will be interred in Memory Gardens at a later date.
