Obituary

SOUTH GLENS FALLS--- Richard L. Ray, 72, of Lamplighter Acres, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at Fort Hudson Nursing Center.
Born December 24, 1940, in East Herkimer, he was the son of the late Miles L. and Lois M. (Sherman) Ray.
Richard worked as a correction officer for many years before retiring.
He enjoyed painting, and camping, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his loving wife of 41 years, Mary Ellen Ray, brother, Charles Ray, and brother-in-law, Don Jones.
Survivors include his three daughters, Terry Dixon and companion, Martin Kelly of Lake George, Tracy Motta-Lechleiter and her husband, Douglas of Lake George, Linda Duffy and her husband Michael of Lake George, three sons, Mark Ray and his wife, Heidi (Matteson) Ray of Fair Haven, VT, Curtis Ray and wife, Cindey (Sherman) Ray of Hudson Falls, Keith Ray of South Glens Falls; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three sister-in-laws, Alice Osberg and husband Roy, Ann Jones, and Donna Ray; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the nurses and aides at Fort Hudson Nursing Center.
A funeral service will be held Friday, October 18, 2013, at 2 pm at Pine View Cemetery, Queensbury, with the rev. Scott Harding officiating.
