Obituary

Queensbury --- Richard "Dick" L. Rozell, 94, passed away Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023 while in rehabilitation. Dick was born on Nov. 30, 1929 in Rensselaer to the late William and Ethel (LaPointe) Rozell. Born a twin, he was the last surviving sibling of 11, a true fighting spirit.

Dick was manager of Air Land Motor Parts in Corinth where he was known as "Rozy." He retired after 37 years of service only to become a bus driver for South Glens Falls School for an additional 25 years, a true testament to his work ethic.

Dick immensely enjoyed vegetable and fruit gardening, generously giving his harvest to his family and friends. He also enjoyed skiing on West Mountain, indoor roller skating, and rebuilding cars in his work shop. You could regularly find Dick betting on the horses or relaxing at home with a good Western on TV. Above all, Dick loved spending time with his family, especially trips to their camp on Lincoln Pond.

His true home was "West Mountain" where he raised four boys with his late wife Constance, who passed away in 1979.

Marrying Susan in 1981, he welcomed two step daughters into his life and they added another daughter, completing their family. He was a loving, caring man with many talents.

For many years, he and Susan were faithful communicants of St. Mary's Church.

In addition to his parents, Dick was predeceased by his first wife, Contance (McArthur) Rozell; two sons, Mark and Matthew Rozell; four sisters, Mary Havens, Shirley Busch, Jane Nichols and Nancy Lundquist; and six brothers, Donald, William, Jack, Peter, Wayne and Robert.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Susan (Fonda) Rozell; two sons, Richard "Rick" (Kathy) Rozell and Peter (Judy) Rozell; daughter, Jennifer (Brook) Dickinson; two step-daughters, Lisa (Kyle) Hall and Kim (Harry) Ottens; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

A private graveside ceremony will be held at St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
