GLENS FALLS -- Robert E. (Bob) Eggleston, 82, left this earth to be with his two beloved sons on Sunday, July 5, 2015.
Born in the town of Queensbury on October 26, 1932 he was the beloved son of Edward and Violet (Guyette) Eggleston. Bob leaves behind his loving wife and best friend of 63 years Joyce (Smith) Eggleston.
Bob was very proud of earning his GED from Glens Falls High School. He retired from Albany Engineering systems after 28 years. After Bob and the love of his life retired they moved to Florida where they enjoyed more than 20 years of making new friends from all over the country and participating in Shady Oaks Park activities. Coming home to Queensbury every summer Bob felt he had the best of both worlds.
His biggest enjoyment was spending time with his wife and children and taking long rides in the country with his parents and family. He enjoyed bowling, snowmobiles, and camping all with family and many good friends. He especially enjoyed hunting and fishing with Mike and Ronnie.
He had a special love for his dogs Webster and Lucky.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sons, Robert Eggleston Jr. and Michael R. Eggleston and his wife, Jan C. Eggleston; two brothers, Edward Eggleston and Frederick Eggleston; four sisters, Gertrude Whittemore, Lorraine Gibson, Virginia Eggleston, Janice Richardson; and a grandson, Philip J. Viger Jr.
He is survived by his two devoted daughters, Sharon (Ronald) Robillard of Queensbury, and Jody Lynn Eggleston of South Glens Falls; two sisters, Betty (Seth) Wolcott and Jean (Fred) Gleason; sisters-in-law, Lillian Eggleston, Polly Smith, and Phyllis Smith; seven grandchildren, Robert (Christy) Eggleston, Khrystyne (Adam) Smith, Philip "PJ" Viger, Tracy (Joshua) Sigmon, Jeffery Robillard, Lysa (Adam) Perkins and Nikki (Bummer) McIntosh. He also had 17 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was a devoted loving husband and father. His life was his family and good friends. He will be missed.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, July 8, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.
A funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Deacon Bill Bazinet officiating.
Burial will take place at 12 p.m. at St. Alphonsus Cemetery, Queensbury, NY.
