Obituary

Sarasota, Fla. --- Robert L. Edwards, 90, formally of Queensbury, New York passed away on November 25, 2014 in his home in Sarasota, Florida. Bob has been a long time resident within the greater Glens Falls area and attended local high schools.


Born February 27, 1924, Bob was the son of Elizabeth and Harold Edwards of Glens Falls.

After graduating high school, he enlisted within the U.S. Army and was awarded an honorable discharge. He attended Rider College where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.


He began his career by working within the Peat Marwick & Mitchell accounting firm and then established his own firm of Edwards and Company, which later became Edwards, Williams, McManus and Ricciardelli Associates in Queensbury.


In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Lydia M. Edwards, and his brother, Roger Edwards.



Bob was very passionate about his career and his affiliations with the local civic organizations. He was a very dedicated member of the Rotarian Organization and committed to many charitable organizations, serving on the board of directors donating his time and efforts. It was a joy for Lydia and Bob to contribute much of their time to the community.


He is survived by his niece, Peggy McArthur of Queensbury, and nephew, Phillip Macero, Jr. of Wayne, PA, niece, Joy Perragallo, nephews, Robert Edwards and Daniel Macero, a great-nephew, Bret McArthur and family, as well as many other great nieces and nephews.



Calling hours will be held December 21, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

A celebration of Bob's life will follow at 5 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Lamont Robinson, retired pastor, officiating.

Burial, with military honor, will take place in the spring.
