JOHNSBURG --- Robert Sterling Magditz, 76, of Garnet Lake Rd., passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2023, with loved ones by his side.
Born December 10, 1946, in Queens, N.Y., he was the son of the late Rudolph and Florence (Woodworth) Magditz.
Following high school in Flushing, Robert joined the Navy. He later went to work with refrigeration and air conditioning and went on to retired as a foreman for the New York City Transit Authority.
Robert enjoyed going to the Vermont State Fair, watch horse races, fishing and his fish tank at home, trains, watching westerns, and being outdoors. He liked talking to truckers using his CB scanner/radio, and even letting the kids talk to them as well. The holidays were very special to Robert. On Fourth of July friends and family would come together to "light up the sky." He also loved decorating for Christmas and selling Christmas trees. Robert was a jokester who liked to tease people always loved to have fun. Most of all he loved being a dad and "pop-pop."
In addition to his parents, Robert was predeceased by his companion, Sandra T. Borecki and brothers, Philip (Patricia) Magditz and Richard Magditz.
Those left to cherish his memory are his former wife/friend, Sandra Magditz; his daughters, Bethany Trzaska and her fiancé, George Verfurth and Jessica Debra Magditz and her companion Ryan McCabe; his grandchildren, Ariel Destiny Robinson, Branden Ryan McCabe, Jayden Robert McCabe, Skyler Richards and Hunter Verfurth; his sister, Susan Gray; his nephew, Andrew Philip Magditz and Kevin Gray; his niece, Janelle Magditz and her companion, Anthony Campbell; great nieces and nephews, Cohen Robert Campbell, Hudson James Campbell (soon to be born) and Florence Jane Magditz.
Visitation will be determined at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert's name may be made to Baker Funeral Home to help the family with the cost of his services.
