QUEENSBURY-- Robert W. "Bob" "Maverick" Mattison Sr., 72, of Wisconsin Ave., passed away Sunday, September 18, 2016 at his home with his loving family by his side.

Born in Glens Falls on October 15, 1943, he was the son of the late Gordon and Ida (Bennett) Mattison.

Along with his parents, Bob was predeceased by his brother, Gordon Mattison; sister, Florence Vaughn; and granddaughter, Pearl Ida Hockford.

Bob enjoyed many things including bingo, fishing, hunting, camping, listening to music, chitchatting on the CB, and bowling. He loved spending time with his late dog, Snowball, but time spent with family is what he cherished most.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 53 years, JoAnn E. (Carpenter) Mattison; five children, Veronica A. Poutré, Robert W. Mattison Jr., Kathleen E. Mattison, Lance G. Mattison and Fiancé, Barbara Centerbar, Jason J. Mattison and wife, Carolyn Mattison; grandchildren, Kayleigh Poutré, Nicole Davis, Robert W. Mattison III, Chuck Allen, Christopher Centerbar Jr., Savana J. Mattison, Alexandria L. Mattison; as well as many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will take place Wednesday, September 21, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

A memorial service will immediately follow at 6 p.pm. at the funeral home with the Rev. Flossie Gage Bates, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made sent to Baker Funeral Home 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804, to defray funeral expenses.

A benefit will be held November 6, 2016 from 12 to 6 p.m. at the VFW on Luzerne Road, Queensbury
