QUEENSBURY --- Rolland "Poppy" Hazen Beattie, 85, passed away after a brief illness surrounded with loved ones Thursday, October 9, 2025.

Born September 14, 1940 in Corinth, New York he was the son of James C. and Mary Edna (Smith) Beattie.

Rolland was a dishwasher for many years at Albany Medial Center, Glens Falls Hospital, and The Silo.

Rolland was a night owl, he would watch WWE, Cowboys, NASCAR, and old television shows and drink a beer.

In addition to his parents, Rolland was predeceased by his beloved wife, Sandra "Meme" Maille Beattie; siblings, James Beattie, Charles Beattie, Margret Millis, Lucille Been, and Dorthea Greenwood; stepson, Thomas Wood; and grandchild, Jeremy McFadden.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Burris Beattie, David Beattie, Keith Beattie, and Rolland Beattie Jr.; stepsons, Ron (Bev) Stockwell of Glens Falls, Bobby (Terri) Stockwell of Virgina Beach, VA, Jack Stockwell II of South Glens Falls, and Alan Wood of South Glens Falls; grandchildren, Gabby (Tyler) Tibbitts of Latham, Andrea Phillips of Glens Falls, Beth McFadden of Fort Edward, Tina Darden of North Carolina, Vanessa Lindley of Virginia, TomiJo Ball of Hudson Falls, Brandon Stockwell of Florida, Alan Wood Jr. of South Glens Falls, Melissa Conine of South Glens Falls, Sarah Wood of South Glens Falls, and Matthew Stockwell of Glens Falls; as well as several great-grandchildren.

A graveside ceremony will take place Monday, October 20, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Alphonsus Cemetery.

Rolland will be remembered for always having a smile on his face and making others laugh.
