GLENS FALLS - Rose Antoinette Del Signore, 88, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, at Glens Falls Hospital.
Born March 16, 1926 in Glens Falls, Rose was the daughter of Vitaliano and Rachel C. (Ricciardelli) Bruno.
Rose was a graduate of St. Mary's Academy, Class of 1944.
After high school she worked for Glens Falls Insurance Company before starting a family.
On April 22, 1951, Father Hughes married Rose and Samuel J. Del Signore at St. Mary's Church in Glens Falls. They were married more than 33 years until his death in 1985.
She will be remembered as a loving, caring, giving and compassionate lady who always put other's needs and feelings first. She enjoyed family outings and get-togethers, as well as watching movies, and dining out. Her home was open to all visitors and she enjoyed hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners though the years.
In addition to her parents, Rose was predeceased by her beloved husband, Samuel J. Del Signore.
She is survived by two sons, Steven (Elaine) Del Signore of South Glens Falls, and Peter (Christine) Del Signore of Glens Falls; a grandson, Samuel M. Del Signore, the love of her life, of Glens Falls; her sister, Florence Bruno of Queensbury; five brothers, Peter (Ruth) Bruno of Glens Falls, Vito (Lona) Bruno of Potomac Falls, VA, Joseph Bruno (Kay Stafford, life partner) of Troy, Anthony (Kerry) Bruno of South Glens Falls, Arthur (Bonnie) Bruno of Glens Falls, and Robert Bruno of Glens Falls; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Feb. 11, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church located 62 Warren St., Glens Falls, with the Rev. Joseph Manerowski, Pastor, officiating. There will be no calling hours. There will be a reception to follow the mass at a place to be determined. An announcement will be made at the church.
A graveside service will take place Tuesday, May 19, at 1 p.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery, South Glens Falls.
