WINTERS GARDEN, Fla. -- Rose M. "MeMa" (Bankos) Kiehn, 92, passed away Friday, April 22, 2016 at the Quality Nursing Home in Winter Gardens, Fla. with her loving family by her side.
Rose was born in Lincoln Park, NJ January 17, 1924 to Andrew and Agnes (Migdol) Bankos.
St. Joseph's Paterson, N.J. is where she graduated High School.
On August 10, 1946, she married her husband, Claude A. Kiehn. They spent 36 years together before his passing in 1982.
In 1978 Rose retired after owning and operating Colonial Manor Motor Inn, of Lake George, with her husband, Claude, since 1962.
Her enjoyments included needlepoint, crocheting, gardening and soap operas.
Along with her parents and husband, Rose was predeceased by her sisters, Marion, Catherine, Anna, Helen, and Irene; along with her brother, Edward.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Claudia Lee(Vincent) Spitzer of Lake George and Groveland, Fla.; grandchildren, Drew (Nicole) Spitzer of Summit, NJ and Dean (Ashley) Spitzer of Hoboken, NJ; great-grandchildren, Paul (5) and Paige (3) Spitzer of Summit, NJ; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins from Lincoln Park, NJ.
Calling hours will take place Sunday, May 1, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette, St., Queensbury, NY.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 2 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lake George.
Burial will follow mass at Evergreen Cemetery, Lake George.
