Obituary

GLENS FALLS --- Rose M. Roccasecca Mattern, formerly of Webster Ave., Glens Falls, and most recently resided at Fort Hudson Nursing Facility, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Glens Falls Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
Born Oct. 8, 1928 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Josephine (Sassone) Roccasecca.
Rose was married to Walter W. Mattern for 62 years before he passed away Feb. 12, 2012. She also was predeceased by her brother, Salvatore Roccasecca, and brothers-in-law, John Sikorak and Paul Naylor.
Rose is survived by her daughter, JoEllen McGuire and her husband, Bill, of South Glens Falls; her son, Walter "Butch" Mattern and his wife, Sharon, of Phoenix, Ariz.; and her daughter, Jeanne Pingrey and her husband, Don, of Puyallup, Wash.; seven grandsons: Brian McGuire and his sons, Thomas and Rory, all of Delmar, NY, Kevin McGuire, his wife, Jennie, and their sons, Liam and Miles, all of Rochester, NY, Jason Pingrey, his wife, Kathy, and their daughters, Bella and Sophia, all of Puyallup, Wash., Jamie Pingrey, his wife, Kuilonni, their son, Caleb, and daughter, Nikalonni, all of Renton, Wash., Christopher Pingrey and his sons, Brycen and Cadell, all of Puyallup, Wash., and Max and Jack Mattern, both of Phoenix, Ariz.; one sister, Mary Naylor of Queensbury; sister-in-law, Doris Sikorak of Hudson Falls; also several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call upon the family Tuesday, June 26, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury.
A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Thomas Babiuch officiating.
Burial will follow at Pine View Cemetery, Quaker Rd., Queensbury.
Rose's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Fort Hudson Nursing Facility and Glens Falls Hospital for their compassion and loving care.
