QUEENSBURY --- Roy Mitchell, 70, of Luzerne Rd., Queensbury, passed away Friday, Jan. 12, 2018 following a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Born October 14, 1947, in Glens Falls, Roy was the son of the late Roy and Mary (Crescione) Mitchell.

Roy attended Glens Falls School District. He worked at Pearls Department Store in Glens Falls, as well as the Glens Falls Post Office.

Roy enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1965, serving his country three years, before being honorably discharged in 1968.

Roy married Cathy A. Wakeley on November 22, 1969 in Glens Falls.

One of Roy's enjoyments was watching old classic movies.

In addition to his parents, Roy was predeceased by a brother, Michael Mitchell.

Survivors include his wife, Cathy A. Mitchell of Queensbury; two sons, Scott Mitchell of Glens Falls, and Todd Mitchell of Queensbury; three grandchildren, Cullen Mitchell of Queensbury, and Guiliana and Chevy Mitchell, both of Glens Falls; a sister, Paulette Mitchell of Washington; three brothers, Stephen Mitchell and Anthony Mitchell, both of South Glens Falls, and Kevin Mitchell of Las Vegas; an aunt, Eleanor Beams of South Glens Falls; an uncle, Karl Schmitt of Catskill; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

As requested by Roy, services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Burial will take place at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville.
