Obituary

HUDSON FALLS --- Sarah "Sally" E. Frye, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on Friday, March 23, 2018 at The Pines Rehabilitation Facility in Glens Falls.

Sally was born on November 22, 1932, in Warrensburg. She was the second daughter of Harry B. and Althea (Bolton) Frye.

She graduated second in her class from Warrensburg Central School. Sally moved to Hudson Falls in 1963 with her husband, John C. Brown where she raised her family and began her devout affiliation with Zion Episcopal Church. Sally enjoyed many membership positions there, including altar guild, choir, Daughters of the King, as well as a multitude of charitable and support activities. Her charity work spilled over into her community as a frequent donor to local soup kitchens and clothing ministries.

Sally was an avid reader and gardener. She studied and practiced Reiki healing and spent many years caring for elders in their homes. Sally worked as a financial planner for First Investors and was co-owner and builder of Brown's Country Store on Horicon Avenue in Warrensburg for many years.

Her greatest joys were rooted deeply in her love of God, family and friends. She exemplified the two greatest commandments: to love God and love others. Always a caregiver, she played a key role in helping raise her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was adored and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Sarah was predeceased by her daughter, Terri L. LaPoint, her son, William "Bill" E. Brown, and a brother, Billy Frye.

Those left to cherish her memory are a son, John W. (Kathleen) Brown; grandchildren, Jason (Montoya), Julie, Kristen (Nick), and her great-grandchildren, Kaisa, Kierran, Avery, Abigail, and Kolby; her daughter, Sally Frost (Jason); and grandchildren Hollianne (RJ), and Emily (Kenny); and great-grandchildren Kali, Riley, Sammy, Lennon, and Josephine, and her granddaughter, Jennifer Rock (James), and great-grandchildren, Donald and Holly Rock, and great-great-grandchildren, Charli, Rene, Zane, and Xander. She adored them all. She is also survived by two sisters, Joyce Bolster and Anne Frye; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Brown; also several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Zion Episcopal Church, 224 Main St., Hudson Falls, on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. followed by a reception at the church.

A graveside service will take place in the spring at Warrensburg Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
