Obituary

FORT ANN --- Sherry D. (Brown) Lanfear, 71, passed away Friday, May 26, 2017, at her home in her loving husbands arms.

Born on April 26, 1946 in Troy, New York, she was the daughter of the late Amos W. and Susan D. Brown.

Sherry grew up at Saratoga Lake in the town of Stillwater, New York. She was raised on Brown's Beach which was built by her grandparents and uncle Harold Brown. It was still her favorite "toy" even after being sold to the Bob and John Morris brothers and was run as their family business for many years. The Beach was sold finally to the town of Stillwater as a marina, bathing beach, and restaurant, much to Sherry's answered prayers.

She also loved her pets and cared for wild birds and fed the wild animals, occasionally leaving food and water on the trails when the weather was too dry. Her favorite pet (baby) was her chihuahua, "Tansey Jane" who was her best pal.

Sherry also resided in Wilton, New York, and North Tonawanda, New York.

She was a "Buffalo Bills" and "Florida Gators" football fan.

Sherry graduated from Stillwater High School in 1965. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of Queensbury.

In addition to her parents, Sherry was predeceased by her step father, Hinton C. Witt; her father and mother-in-law, Raymond and Beatrice Lanfear; her brothers-in-law, Raymond Lanfear, Leon Robinson; her grandparents, Amos W. and Grace Brown, Marvin Douberly and Dory Douglas.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 50 years, James E. Lanfear; her daughters, Monica Alden (Ernie), Heather Delvaux (Eric); her grandchildren, Ben Alden, Noah Alden, Eric Delvaux, Caleb Delvaux; her sisters, Lynne Nettles (Roy), Mary Lou Robinson, Cindy Young (Mark); brothers, Keith Brown (Donna), James Richard, Steven; a sister-in-law, Ellen Clark and her friend, Ron; a cousin, Bob Blais; her special friends, Lillian Jennings, Polly Frieberger, and Sylvia Winslow; also, many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will take place Tuesday, May 30 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
