GLENS FALLS – Sherwood L. Cornell, 74, passed away Friday, August 29, 2014, after a short illness, at Glens Falls Hospital with his loving family by his side.
Born October 28, 1939, in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Howard Cornell and Dorothy (Potter) Cornell-Ramsey.
Sherwood graduated from Glens Falls High School. He worked for several medical device companies as a manufacturing engineer, retiring from Mallinckrodt in Argyle, after twenty five years.
He loved restoring antiques and especially his personal collection of foreign cars. He was an avid ice boater along with being an artist of distinction for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Howard Cornell; his daughter, Lisa Cornell Mossing; and his first wife of 46 years, Sandra Pratt Cornell.
He is survived by his wife of five years, Ann Barton Cornell; his son, Christopher Cornell and his wife, Jennifer, and their children, Morgan and James; and his son-in-law, John Mossing and his wife, Jessica, and his daughter Lauren, and their children Ella and Jack, all of Queensbury; his step-daughters Barbara Broughton and Kirsten Lynch, and her children Devin Brockway and Samantha Jubin; his sister-in-law, Helen Cornell, along with several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, September 2, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
