Obituary

QUEENSBURY --- The Beloved Lord has taken into his arms the beautiful spirit of Shirley T. (Heil) Dingman, 88, of Queensbury. Shirley passed away Monday, February 15, 2021, at the Nancy Dowd Hospice Home, after a battle with C.L.L.

She was born August 7, 1932, in Glens Falls, the daughter of the late Dominic J. Heil and Delia E. (Morrissey) Heil.

On January 4, 1953, she married Francis M. Dingman Jr. at St. Mary's Church. Shirley worked at Glens Falls Insurance Company. Before moving on to Queensbury School District to work as a cafeteria attendant and at the Board of Elections, where she retired.

Shirley was a devoted Catholic of Our Lady of the Annunciation. She was always helping and praying for others. She was a devoted fan of James Cawley, an Elvis impersonator, even though she was not a big fan of Elvis himself. She loved to sit and watch James sing, which he did a wonderful job, I might add. Shirley was also a big part of the Paparazzi Fan Club. She just loved to take your picture if you let her. Believe me, you had no choice.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was predeceased by an infant son, Daniel Jude Dingman; her husband of 61 years, Francis M. Dingman Jr.; brothers, Richard and Donald Heil; sister, Alene (Heil) Brown; son, Francis M. Dingman III; and a grandson, Albie Ibrahim.

She is survived by three sons, two daughters, 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that cherished her friendship, hospitality, and sweetness about her. We just loved the way she rocked her sunglasses.

There will be no calling hours or burial at this time. Her ashes will be buried with her husband's at a later date.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the Nancy Dowd Hospice Home for making her passing as comfortable as possible.

Condolences may be sent directly to Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804, or through www.bakerfuneralhome.com.
