DIAMOND POINT --- Shirley M. Finkle, 92, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Warren Center in Queensbury with her family by her side following a lengthy illness.
Born on February 14, 1926 in Warrensburg, she was the second child of the late Curtis and Betty (Carpenter) Moon of Diamond Point.
Shirley graduated from Bolton Central School in the class of 1943 and married her childhood sweetheart Horace C. Finkle June 5, 1946. On June 5, 2018, the couple celebrated their 72 nd anniversary.
In addition to raising their four daughters, Shirley did the bookkeeping for her husband's plumbing and heating business, as well as doing many other things pertaining to the business. Shirley treasured the times she spent with her daughters and grandchildren, most of all.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one brother, Stanley E. Moon, who was killed in action on July 24, 1945 at the conclusion of World War II, and a daughter, Bonnie Holz.
Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 72 years, Horace C. Finkle of Diamond Point; three daughters, Jane (Robert) Bradway of Hudson Falls, Sandra (Steven) Sweet of Lake George, and Priscilla (Wayne) Seguin of Massena; 11 grandchildren, Daniel Holz, Heidi Cioffi, Lisa Kirchner, Jennifer Dreyer, Nicole Willis, Kathleen Zeno, Stephanie Cobb, Samantha Caruso, Sheryl Palmateer, Amanda Soulia, and Joshua Seguin; 19 great-grandchildren; one son-in-law, Bernard Holz of Hudson Falls; two sisters-in-law, Shirley (Rober) Ford of MA, and Joyce (John) Scafidi of OH; and several cousins.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Interment will take place at Warrensburg Cemetery at a later date.
The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Warren Center.
