Florida --- Shirley Marie (Wicks) Spaulding, 87, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, passed away Friday, April 11, 2014 in Florida.

Born December 27, 1926, in Durkeetown, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Bellouise (Pike) and Lemuel Wicks.

Shirley graduated from Ft. Edward High School and worked at Sandy Hill Corporation in Ft. Edward. Later, she worked at Bill Millington Law Offices in Lake George.

In 1947, Shirley married Edward Spaulding and they enjoyed raising their family together on Glen Lake.

Following Ed's death in 1972, Shirley moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she worked for the Broward County School District. There she made many friends and was an active member of the Cross Fox Condominium Board.

In addition to her loving husband Ed, Shirley was predeceased by her parents, her son Arthur, her daughter Barbara, and her sister Dorothy.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Claude Edmund Spaulding and his wife, Peggy, of Bristol, VT; five grandchildren, Tammy Rutch of Tyler, TX, Tom Hall and his wife, Trish, of Virginia Beach, VA, Timothy Hall and his wife, Beth, of Wilton, N.Y., Lindsay Vincelette and her husband, Tyler, of Bristol, VT, and Emily Spaulding of Manhattan, N.Y.; seven great-grandchildren, Aaron, Jacob, Hannah, Keiley, Ryan, Finnley and Dane; a nephew, Bill Fosbrook of Glen Lake, N.Y.; along with many close friends in Florida.

Family and friends are invited to share memories of Shirley at an interment, which will be held on Friday, August 15, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Union Cemetery in Ft. Edward, N.Y.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley's memory may be made to the American Heart Association/ American Stroke Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
