Obituary

QUEENSBURY --- Simone Antoinette (Crete) Bolton, 95, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 18, 2017 at home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born August 4, 1922 in Montreal, Canada, the daughter of the late Isaie and Melina (Dinelle) Crete. Her father left Canada to come to the USA to find work. Shortly after, his family, Simone, her sister, Jeannette and their mother came by train to join him and settle in the east end of Glens Falls.

Simone was a devoted wife to her husband, Malcolm "Mac", whom she met on Christmas Day 1942 at the Empire Theater in Glens Falls. They were later married on October 20, 1945 shortly before Mac was discharged from the Army.  Fifty years later, they renewed their wedding vows and remained happily married for almost 72 years until her passing.

She worked at the Eden Park Nursing Home for many years and also enjoyed running their small store, boat rental and bait shop on the Hudson River.  She enjoyed the many days of playing cards with her husband, daughter and friends.  She loved music, collecting antique magazines, but most of all being with her loving family.  Not a day went by without her saying, "I wonder how the grandchildren are today."

In addition to her parents, Simone was predeceased by her sister, Jeannette (Crete) Holmes; daughter-in-law, Helen (Lashway) Bolton; and brother-in-law, Floyd Hartman.

Those left to cherish her memory are, her loving husband, Malcolm; son, James R. Bolton of Queensbury; Daughter, Teresa (Dennis) Leombruno of South Glens Falls; grandchildren, James R. (Michelle) Bolton of Virginia, Jodi (Tim) Gowen of South Carolina, Kathy (Michael Sears) Bruno of Queensbury, Karen (Lee) Monahan of Hudson Falls, Michelle (Cameron) Monroe of Argyle, Kimberly (John Dave Moore) Leombruno of Virginia; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, James Calvin, Ambre' Lee, Kevin Dean, Brian, Kirsten, Mackenzie, Ethan, Gavin, Hunter, Adalynn, Hayden, Ashley, Steven, Madison, Jaxson, Savannah, Kody, Jared, Bri-Anna Antoinette, Kayla, Cameron and Riley Hudson; sister, Anita Hartman; brother, Roland (Ada) Crete; also several nieces, nephews, and cousins
